Getting your car ready for the annual Christmas voyage is one of the most important jobs of the year. Planning, packing, stacking, and loading but don't forget there are safety considerations, and practicalities to account for. Here are our top tips to ensure a smooth drive home for Christmas:

Plan Your Route.

Decide on a simple and direct route. Consider factors like road conditions, weather, and traffic. Use a good sat nav app to stay updated on real-time traffic and road conditions.

Check your car.

Do a pre-trip inspection of your vehicle. Check tyres, brakes, lights, and fluid levels are in good condition. Check the oil, brake fluid, coolant, and windscreen washer fluid levels. Don't forget to fill up with fuel before you set off.

Check the weather.

Make sure you have an eye on the forecast. Be prepared for changing weather conditions and pack accordingly. You might want to pop in some blankets if it's going to snow.

Pack Smart.

With space at a premium, packing well is key. Get larger items in first and pack around them. Pack your presents securely to prevent damage.

Load up the Christmas playlist.

Ensure devices are fully charged and safely mounted for hands free use. Then get that Christmas playlist cued up and ready to jingle.

Finally, let the family know your arrival time and off you go. Remember to take your time, drive safely, and enjoy the journey. Safe travels, and Merry Christmas!
