16/3/2010 - 2010 Well Underway
After a fantastic New Year's Eve at Lloyds the band has started the new year slowly in order to take time to bring in new songs, as well as to bring back some old favourites. The resultant new additions to the regular
set include songs by The Rolling Stones, Blur, Aerosmith and Foo Fighters to name just a few! Look out also for some more surprises in the near future. Despite the quiet start, some excellent gigs have taken place at The Seven Seas and Baileys,
where the band played to a very supportive crowd at the end of February. The band is now back to regular gigs, kicking off with a return to their favourite venue - Lloyds - on Thursday 18th March. This promises to be an excellent night, and
the band is also delighted to have been invited back to play there on New Year's Eve 2010. The band looks forward to seeing you at a gig soon - check out the Gigs page for updates.
17/11/2009 - Countdown to Xmas!
Jodie is back and fighting fit again. The band played some very enjoyable gigs towards the end of October including a fantastic night at Lloyds, which saw the first performance of Bodies by Drowning Pool, after almost a year of persistent requests!
November will see a couple of gigs with Carl Gibbett, a good friend of the band, back on the drum stool covering for Kev. The band is also very much looking forward to their December gigs including Boxing Night at The County and
what should be an excellent end to the year....New Year's Eve at Lloyds. Get there early for that one! Bookings are also well underway for 2010. If you wish to book the band, please call now as dates are going fast. Also, the band's
Facebook Page is going from strength to strength, with over 100 fans registered. If you want to check up on all the latest band related chat please give it a visit!
Plenty of new material is in the pipeline for next year with, in true Feedback style, one or two surprises! From all the band, thanks for the support in 2009 !!!
09/10/2009 - Illness
Unfortunately Jodie has been admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitis, and the band will be unable to play their gigs at Baileys (9th Oct), The Bluestone (10th Oct)
and The Dolphin (17th Oct). Cover has been arranged for all gigs by other bands. We all wish Jodie a speedy recovery!
28/7/2009 - Facebook
The band has created its own Facebook page to provide regular news, updates and gig invites etc. Please visit here and register !!
05/6/2009 - Mid year update
The band continues to go from strength to strength. Some great gigs have taken place since the beginning of the year, topped off last week with a great night playing
to a packed Lloyds Arms in Grimsby. The band is, during 2009, taking on a slightly harder edge with songs from Aerosmith, Rainbow, Metallica and Black Sabbath (amongst others)
being added to the set during the year. Also check out their hilarious renditions of Jilted John and Gay Bar!! The band is looking forward to a busy summer period, and would also like to again thank stand-in drummer Carl and bass player Andy
for stepping in when required. Much appreciated!
30/1/2009 - Looking forward to 2009
The band have been busy adding many new songs to their set with - in true Feedback style - several surprises in store for their audiences. 2009 was kicked off with a
fantastic night at Lloyds on 15th Jan. Lloyds has also booked the band for New year's Eve this year, which should be well worth waiting for. Work continues on a completely
updated set, and the band is really looking forward to some great gigs over the coming months.
24/9/2008 - Full Steam Ahead!
Summer is now over, and despite the questionable weather the band has really got into its stride, delivering a superb and diverse range of music at each gig. Recent
highlights have been a fantastic gig at The County, where the band really went into overdrive to deliver probably the best performance to date in front of a very
receptive crowd. The second visit of the year to the Kings Head in Waltham also proved just as successful as the first. As well as the remaining gigs this year, the
band will be taking time out to polish off several new songs to feature in the 2009 set, with as usual one or two surprises - watch this space !! The band would also
like to thank the following musicians who have stood in occasionally on recent gigs - Carl (DOG) (Drums), Glyn Atkinson (Drums), Andy Howe (Bass). Cheers guys!
23/6/2008 - Summer Update
With another batch of great gigs behind them, the band are going to have a slightly slower July to take a few well earned holidays. Recent gigs include an
enjoyable night with our hosts at The White Horse and Dunston, Nr Lincoln (and looking forward to their return in August 2009!), a fantastic night at The Kings Head in
Waltham and more recently a very enjoyable night at Lloyds in Grimsby, which saw Jodie being very well received at his place of work! The band is also greatly
indebted to ex-vocalist Kenny, who came out retirement to cover for a couple of gigs, including a very well received performance at Scunthorpe TA Centre. The band
very much enjoyed dusting off some of the old classics and no one would have known that several songs had not been played or sung in over 6 months! Thanks Kenny - you're a star!
14/4/2008 - April Update
Feedback are now back to full strength, and with some excellent gigs behind them with Jodie out front, they are looking forward to a busy spring and
summer, which will include a couple of outdoor events as well as more private parties, for which demand appears to be increasing. Another new batch of songs
has been added and in typical Feedback style the band's audiences really will not know what's going to come next!!! Unfortunately, the band's return to the
Dolphin in Scunthorpe on the 12th April had to be cancelled due to a fire at the premises, but everyone is really looking forward to their first appearance at
The Kings Head in Waltham, which will also be the first non-private appearance of the band back in Grimsby this year.....and a packed night is in store!
10/1/2008 - Jodie's First full Gig!!!
Saturday 5th Jan marked Jodie's first full gig with the band. What a night! The crowd at The Dolphin in Scunthorpe were great, and
Jodie put in a brilliant first performance. New songs featured heavily in the set and received an enthusiastic reception, escpecially the band's
finale of Play that Funky Music followed by Ace of Spades!! Even more new material is in the pipeline and everyone is looking forward to this
next phase in the band's evolution. Check the band out at one of their upcoming Gigs.
24/12/2007 - Merry Christmas!
The band's final visit of the year to the Kings Head in Louth again went down a storm. The occasion was also marked
by the first proper appearance of Jodie - the band's new vocalist - who sang a short set of seven completely new songs, all
of which will feature in the band's 2008 setlist. Check out the pictures in the Gallery!!!
Everyone is now looking forward to their second successive New Years Eve at The Trawl in order to end what has been a great year with a bang!
From all the band, a very merry christmas and a happy a prosperous new year - we look forward to seeing you in 2008!
4/12/2007 - Latest News
The search for a replacement vocalist ended last month with the appointment of Jodie Thompson to the role.
Jodie brings a superb rock voice to the Feedback mix, and this is resulting in a significant amount of new
material in the pipeline for Jodie's full debut next year. In the meantime, he has made a couple
of guest appearances at recent gigs, both of which met with some great audience appreciation. Our remaining
gigs with Kenny continue, and the band will soon be entering its traditional Christmas and new year busy period,
highlights of which will be a visit to the King's Head in Louth and our second successive New Years Eve gig
at the Trawl. Kenny's final gig with the band will be at The Dolphin in Scunthorpe on 5th Jan 2008, where they went down a
storm at their debut gig there in October.
28/09/2007 - Vocalist Vacancy
The band is sorry to announce that Kenny will be leaving them by the end of the year in order to
spend more time with his family, which will be significantly expanded in the new year with twins expected!!
Feedback would like to thank Kenny for the huge contribution he has made to the evolution of the band, and
they wish Kenny and Nicola the best of luck with their forthcoming new arrivals! This leaves the band with the
unenvious task of finding a worthy successor, and auditions are currently in progress. We intend to
be up and running with Kenny's successor by the end of the year, and in the meantime our gigs carry on
unaffected. The band has some exciting plans ahead and is looking forward to a great 2008!
24/08/2007 - Website Changes
We've had a major overhaul of our website! Please feel free to sign our guestbook and let us know
what you think!
21/08/2007 - August Update
Holiday season is almost over for the band and it's time to get back to business! After
a great night at The Trawl on 17th August, on Sunday 26th the band once again returns there as part of their annual
charity event in aid of St Andrews Hospice - a very worthy local charity. The band would like to
thank Dave Brown (bass player in Loose Ends) for agreeing to step in on the night to replace Rob, who will be
away at Leeds Festival. Things will be hotting up over the coming months with some great gigs in
the pipeline. Look out for several new songs including - in true Feedback fashion - one or two surprises!
19/06/2007 - Busy Busy Busy!
The band is in the middle of what is turning out to be a hectic month which started off with an
appearance at Kev's wedding do at Yardbirds Club. We wish Kev and Lorraine every happiness for
the future. A couple of great Sunday gigs in Grimsby will be topped off next week with a revisit
to Yardbirds Club and then the band's first visit to Boston to perform at a private function.
New material is being added all the time, and recent airings of songs by REM and The Buzzcocks
have been warmly received. The band diary for the second half of the year is looking healthy, and
everyone is looking forward to visiting places old and new with their ever evolving and varied set.
The band would also like to extend their thanks to a couple of local drummers who have lent their
services at our times of need - Alan Jarvis who stood in for a very grateful Kev at his wedding do
and Glyn Atkinson, who will be helping out when required as the band gets ever busier.
13/03/2007 - More great Gigs
Not the busiest month by our standards, but February saw a surprise late booking from The Leaking
Boot, who chose the band to start their 'alternative' Wednesday Bags Ball nights. In addition to
this, the band were delighted to help out our new friends at The Kings Head in Louth by covering for
a late cancellation by another band. Another great night was had by all! Then it was a return to
home turf with a great night at The Trawl where our new and more 'up to date' material received a
great reception from our regular crowd. Audience participation is always high on the agenda, and we
have developed the habit of inviting female accompaniment for a rendition of the cheesy classic
Mustang Sally - ensuring we capture the moment on camera for posterity.
Check out our Gallery!!!
16/01/2007 - New Year Update
We have a new favourite venue! A big thanks to the lovely people of Louth for the great reception
that greeted us when we played at The Kings Head Hotel on 6/1/07. The band ended up playing for
over 3 hours and had a fantastic night. We were therefore delighted to be invited back there in
April and July. We have also - at last - added some new audio samples to the Downloads Page.
These were recorded at a November 2006 rehearsal - please feel free to check them out!
28/12/2006 - Last few gigs of 2006
We are coming to the close of a fantastic (but very busy) month - the highlight of which for us was
a great night supporting The Brew at The Venue on 23rd December. They are destined for bigger and better things and we wish them every success in the future - go for it guys!
Tonight will see a return to Lloyds in Grimsby after 2 years and we are also looking forward to a
marathon new years eve gig at The Trawl, along with solo artist Tim Genaro. That promises to be a
busy one to say the least! Why not join us there? From all the band, thanks for your support during
2006 and we look forward to seeing you again in 2007!!!
17/11/2006 - It's Nearly Xmas!
The band have recently added further songs to their sets, including the old Queen classic,
Tie Your Mother Down and the Tenpole Tudor perennial favourite - Swords of a Thousand Men! Both
songs were played at recent gigs at The Ashby Star and The Trawl to very appreciative audiences -
especially at The Trawl where we had what must have been our best gig there to date. Things will
really hot up in December with 8 gigs booked already, including a New Years Eve back at The Trawl.
We are really looking forward to that one! We're also appearing at The Venue on 23rd December,
supporting our good friends The Brew. This promises to be a brilliant night and will be a fantastic
way to mark the end of a great year for both bands. Be there early - it's gonna be a busy one!
14/08/2006 - August Update
Band holidays are now mostly over so it's time to return to some serious rocking!
On the 27th August the band will perform as part of the annual charity night taking place at
The Trawl, along with several other acts. Feedback will be loaning their PA system to the
organisers for what should prove to be a fantastic night. Keith will also appear as part of
'Loose Ends' - a loosely based band intending to provide backing for various vocalists to strut
their stuff. Should be interesting. Kenny and Chris meanwhile are also forming a 60's trio
called Carnaby Street as a side project to Feedback, and should be gigging by the end of the
year. More new songs will also soon feature in the Feedback set - watch this space!
16/06/2006 - Summer's Here!
May saw two more gigs in Grimsby including a fantastic night at The Venue (check the pics out in
the gallery). In addition to this, the band were recently featured by the Grimsby Evening Telegraph
in their 'What's On' guide. We have also made some significant upgrades to our PA set-up with
improvements to both the power (now 4Kw) and sound quality of the system. We are also starting to
bring a stand-in drummer up to speed which should allow us to gig more frequently in the future.
June is a quiet month for the band, with one or two holidays taking place, but we will return in
July having added several new songs to our set.
3/04/2006 - March Update
We have finished our March gigs at the Ashby Star, The Trawl and The Venue - all well attended
with some great feedback. Thanks guys - it makes it all worthwhile! Our gig at The Venue once
again went down a storm, and is definitely our favourite place to play! Unfortunately we seem to have been plagued by a few cancelled gigs at unreliable venues without enough time to arrange
alternatives, so apologies to those who were coming to see us and missed out. We have also
dipped our toe into the world of PA / Soundman hire, and last week provided the sound for a new local band - an excellent female fronted 5-piece known as 'Best Shots'. A good night was
had by all - they are certainly an act to look out for in the future.
10/01/2006 - First 2006 Gigs
The band performed their first gigs of 2006 at The Trawl on 6th Jan and The Market Hotel on
7th Jan. Both were great nights - well attended - with lots of support from other local
musicians. At the Saturday gig, Feedback were supported by a new band consisting of young
lads who we have known for some years and have regularly helped us set up gear at gigs and
rehearsals. Known as FlySmoke, they performed a selection of Nirvana and Green Day material,
receiving a great reception from a very supportive audience. Feedback is very much looking
forward to a great set of gig's this year and hopes to welcome you to a show soon
12/10/2005 - New Drummer
Bicky is moving 'up north' with his new love (we wish him all the best), and our drum
stool therefore recently became vacant. Who better to fill it than another Kev - Kev Wilson,
who most recently was a part of another cracking band in the region - Adrenalin. Apart
from Kev's great drum technique, he also brings further backing vocal capabilities to the
band. We are busy rehearsing and filling our diary for next year's assault on the local
music scene.
13/8/2005 - First gig with Kenny
We played our first gig with Kenny at a private party in Lincolnshire. What a night!
As well as our regular set we also played for the first time our full 'unplugged'
set with one of our good friends (another Kenny - Kenny Sharpe from local blues duo
Vintage) - pictured - guesting on guitar. Keith was able to also slip in
his acoustic party piece - Bron-yr-Aur from Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffitti.
Catch the 'New Improved Feedback' at a gig soon !!!
20/7/2005 - New Singer
The Band is delighted to announce the addition of Kenny Harmon to the lineup as lead singer.
Kenny has previously sung in The Gas Band, and brings a superb vocal style and stage
presence. We are busy rehearsing at present but are looking forward to our next gigs
with Kenny on board.
3/7/2005 - Feedback Unplugged
Chris & Keith have been working on an alternative set, initially to be played separately
as a duo, but now to be adopted by the band for appropriate occasions. Representing a
slight departure from our usual rock based set, we have perfected a repertoire consisting
of such classics as Fields of Gold (Sting), Layla (Clapton's Unplugged version), Harvest
Moon (Neil Young), Breathe/Brain Damage (Pink Floyd), Tears in Heaven (Clapton) etc.
The band lent their PA System to the organisers of the annual fete held by the lovely people
of Thoresway, Lincolnshire, and some of these songs got their first public airing on what
proved to be a fantastic day, shared with many other musicians from the local scene.
20/6/2005 - Last ever gig at the Wine Pipe
The Wine Pipe pub has been the spiritual home of the band for over a year, having been both
our practice venue and the scene of many great gigs. Unfortunately this era has now closed
with the rather dubious decision to turn the main room into a Wacky Warehouse!!! Feedback
bowed out with a great set and were also delighted to welcome Tim and Kurtis Smith - two
thirds of fantastic local band
The Brew - into the audience. Kurtis (pictured below) made
an impromptu guest appearance on drums for a cracking rendition of Smoke on the Water.
8/5/2005 - Feedback's biggest gig to date!
As part of their bicentenial celebrations, local food giants Ross Youngs invited the band
to play at their Family Fun Day held at Blundell Park football ground (well they do sponser
Grimsby Town don't they!) Despite the weather doing its best to dampen spirits Feedback
played a rocking set to around 1000 people. It's not every day we have 30,000watts at the
end of our plectrums and we will therefore remember this day for a long time!
